Summer is here… where did June go? The monsoons are moistening the Silver City area, fires are still burning, and local activities are picking up. Today we say goodbye to Beauty Where You find It: An exhibition to honor the recipients of the Denis Roussel Awards. It was an honor and a pleasure to host such an amazing group of hand-made photographs. July in Silver City is all about the CLAY FESTIVAL! Next Friday evening two new exhibitions open: Reflections In Clay (a juried exhibition) and House of Judgment (a solo exhibition of clay work by Jamie Bates Slone) and it is the Silver city First Friday Gallery Walk. In July we feature Through The Body: Images Of The Human Body Using Alternative Photographic Techniques, juried by Michael Puff. The Silver City First We have some great workshops coming up… We hope to see you this summer!

Flash and I recently returned to Silver City after two wonderful weeks on the Oregon coast. The three workshops I taught (two at Sitka Center For Art and Ecology and one at LightBox in Astoria) were filled with terrific students who made stunning prints.
