The Silver City Art Association is pleased to present the Red Dot Weekend at the Galleries on October 11th – 14th, 2019. Located in historic downtown Silver City, this annual event is in its 21st year and continues to grow in popularity. Twenty-five unique art galleries will feature the work of over 100 artists working in a variety of media. Experience this self-guided tour of fine-art exhibitions, art demonstrations, and musical happenings where you can meet the artists, purchase local art, enjoy fine dining and celebrate all that is uniquely Silver City.
This exhibition features the work of 5 female printmakers from Tucson, Arizona. Jo Andersen, Penny Batelli, Norma Galindo, Maria Lee, and Glory Tacheenie-Campoy present a variety of techniques including mono-prints, etching, linocuts, letterpress and solar plate printing in two and three-dimensional forms.

Obsession: A Juried Exhibition of hand-pulled prints
Presented by Light Art Space sponsored by the Southwest Print Fiesta
OBSESSION is an exhibition of hand-pulled prints responding to the idea of a compulsive preoccupation with an object, idea, person, place, memory, phobia, pattern, thought, image, shape, word, and more. This exhibition will highlight the many visual guises that infatuation can take and challenge the viewer’s relationship to their own habitual fixations and proclivities.

Ambos Lados International Print Exchange
“Ambos Lados” means both sides. This print exchange was organized from both sides of the border by Manuel Guerra of Horned Toad Prints in El Paso, and by Adrian Aguirre and Beatriz Rivas of Taller Grafica Libre in Zaachila, Oaxaca. The 158 prints are fairly evenly split between the two countries – with 72 from Mexico, 80 from the United States, and 6 from other countries, Australia, Canada, Cuba & Ireland.
