Description

In this workshop, participants will transform existing books into unique art objects using a variety of techniques and media. This class encourages creativity and exploration, allowing individuals to personalize books through a variety of methods and materials.

Altered books provide a fun and creative way to explore art and self-expression by transforming ordinary books into unique artobjects. They are a great way to express oneself and discover new artistic avenues—no previous experience required.

Instructor Bio:

Kathleen Koopman is a resident artist at Light Art Space and a lifelong artist who uses a wide variety of mixed media and 2 and 3D techniques to make sculptural, handmade, and altered books. Paired with her love of assemblage, found objects, ephemera, fibers, notions, and hardware, these elements can be incorporated to enhance our altered books.
