Book Making Fun!

This introduction to book making will review types of artist books and then we will make four different book structures, starting with 2 simple books made from a single sheet of paper.  Next we will make the Reverse Piano Hinge Binding structure, a fun book that requires no stitching and just a touch of glue.  Finally we will construct a Stacked Folio Binding with soft cover, or Flutter book.  You can choose to make this book with blank pages, or the instructor will provide a handout on the 100th Anniversary of the Bauhaus, which binds beautifully into a book.  Once you know these structures, you will be able to expand and create your own unique artist books!

About instructor Bobbie Wilson:
Bobbie made her first book 12 years ago, and hasn’t stopped since.  Her books have been shown in many galleries, and she enjoys teaching bookbinding so others can experience the joy of making something uniquely their own.Bobbie lives in Tucson, Arizona.
