“As an artist, I am influenced by dreams, and taken with images that I have seen and find striking. At times, I channel images of what I need or see missing in the environment through my painting. I do not believe my art will bring these creatures back, but studying them and including them in my art helps me celebrate them, makes me more aware of my environment, and how I can make it more compatible for their return.” Carlene Roters
