Printing collaborative text into an accordion book

Printing an Exquisite Corpse Book:

In this workshop, we will look at the history of the Exquisite Corpse as a prompt for us to make accordion books of a “surprise poem” created by the participants.

Each person will transfer and carve their text into a rubber block. After which everyone will ink and print their blocks together to create the accordion book block.

The afternoon will be devoted to the books’ assemblage of hardbound cloth wrapped covers and to personalize their cover with a debossed inset title and carved rubber stamped image.

No prior printmaking or bookmaking experience is needed. You will learn to carve, print and edition a relief print. After the class has exchanged their prints, you will assemble the prints into an accordion book to take home.
