PROVOCATION OF PLACE: A Juried Exhibition For PaperWorks Members

Members of Tucson based PaperWorks are invited to submit visual art work created in the last two years for this group exhibition at Light Art Space in Silver City, New Mexico.

Exhibition dates: March 13th – April 26th, 2020.

Works should relate to the theme of Provocation of place, loosely defined as:  Intimate Nature, Heaven on Earth, Conversations with the Wild, A Seed, An insect, Growth, Weather, Birds, A Heart place, Species within our environment.


Two and Three dimensional artwork created in the last two years (2018 and 2019) are eligible.
Two-dimensional artwork should be framed in simple frames – we recommend black, white, silver or natural wood. Metal frames are fine.  Works must be ready to hang with wire on back (no sawtooth hangers) max. size 40” on any side.  

Three-dimensional artwork  (books, sculptures, etc. ) are welcome – please inquire if work is larger than 4 feet.

Sales are encouraged but artwork need not be for sale. Light Art Space will retain 40% commission on any artwork sold. Sale price on entry form must include commission and cannot be changed after acceptance. All artwork will remain in the exhibition through April 16, 2020.


Light Art Space will insure all works from the time of arrival and inspection at LAS until it is picked up by the artist / shipping company for its return. We will exercise all due care in handling artwork, but will not be held responsible for loss or damage or replacement in transit and will not be responsible for pursuing claims with carriers. LAS reserves the right to refuse upon arrival any work that does not match the image or meet hanging criteria or is of unacceptable quality. LAS will not insure pieces damaged due to faulty wiring, framing or bases of an unstable nature. In the event of a claim, the artist must be prepared to provide information relating to value such as cost of materials, time invested previous sales and exhibition records.
